Family policies
What families ask us before camp starts.
Photos of your child
We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.
What to wear and bring
Send a hat with a brim, a filled water bottle, sunscreen already on, a swimsuit under clothes, a towel and closed-toe shoes. Lunch comes in a cold pack, and everything carries your camper's first name. Phones and toys stay home.
Sun, water and the pool
Every outdoor block has shade close by, and we stop for water breaks between blocks. The afternoon water hour is at the pool, with a lifeguard on the deck and counselors in the water, and campers who need a life jacket wear one. Send sunscreen already on; we stop for a sunscreen break after the water hour.
Drop-off and pickup
An adult on your list signs your camper in and out at the front door. We ask for ID at pickup until we know you. Tell us ahead of time when someone new is coming.
When to keep your child home
A camper with a fever, vomiting or a contagious illness stays home and returns after a full day of being well. If a camper feels ill at camp, we call you and a counselor stays with them until you arrive.
Meals, snacks and allergies
Families send lunch in a cold pack, and camp serves a morning snack and an afternoon snack. Tell us at registration about allergies, and we ask what we need privately. We ask families not to send nuts.
Heat and weather days
When the day is very hot or the weather turns, outdoor blocks and the water hour move to the gym and cool classrooms. We text families about a change before camp starts, and again if the plan changes during the day.
Screens and phones
Phones and tablets stay home. A camper who needs to reach you can use the office phone, and we call you if we need you.
